Top 20 Prospects

Early indications are that the 2003 MLS Draft
will be a good place to find outside defenders, forwards, or maybe even a
goalkeeper.
The top prospect is clearly Virginia forward
Alecko Eskandarian, who has already decided to skip his final year of
eligibility and sign with Major League Soccer. Barring a last-second
change of heart, he will most likely be the top selection to D.C. United on
January 17th.
This list does not include underclassmen or youth
players that have not yet signed with the league. The rankings are based
on how much perceived value each individual player has to an average MLS
team. That means in most cases, foreign players such as Loyola's Niall
Leper are dropped in our rankings because he would count as a Transitional
International in MLS.
