PAT NOONAN
Senior
Forward/Midfielder
Height/Weight
Indiana University
One of the more gifted collegiate
players in the country ... at times demonstrates a great deal of technical
ability for a player of his size ... is able to create space for himself with
his dribbling ... has the ability to make opposing defenders look silly ...
strong enough to hold off most defenders ... very good passer who demonstrates
touch and accuracy … one of the best in the country at swinging in crosses
from the left side ... has a very strong left foot, and can overpower opposing
goalies from distance … can be an absolute enigma at times ... runs hot and
cold, and there's almost no way to tell when you're going to get the good Pat
Noonan, or the bad one ... does not appear to have have a great deal of
athleticism, and may find it hard to separate himself from defenders on the next
level … finishing comes and goes … looked like a potential star as a
left-sided midfielder, but the Hoosiers opted to play him up top the last two
years where he doesn't appear to be quite as effective … may lack the pure
foot speed to play wide left in MLS ... we've heard him called everything from
"a poor man's Brian Kamler" to "college soccer's Wolde
Harris" to "a potential left-footed Ben Olsen" ... Noonan is
thought to be considering a move to Europe, and may be a tough player for MLS to
sign ... five years
from now, it wouldn't surprise us to see Pat Noonan challenging for a spot on
the National Team. It also wouldn't surprise us to see Pat Noonan bouncing
around the A-League. | |
